A year of commemoration around Josephine Baker!
2025 is a special year for Joséphine Baker!
Let’s commemorate together the 50th anniversary of her death, but also the 100th anniversary of her arrival in Paris!
Throughout 2025, we will celebrate this great artist with various events: shows, dinner and movie evenings, exhibitions, festivals, and more.
We will gradually add the event schedule to this page, so keep an eye on it from time to time (as well as on our social media)!
So… Dare to be Joséphine!”
Pierrette Dupoyet's show on April 12, 2025: a treat for you!
Synopsis:
Premiere at the Avignon Festival – Written, performed, and directed by Pierrette Dupoyet
Joséphine Baker, an exceptional woman, opened her heart wide by adopting 12 children from different cultures, religions, and countries.
She dreamed of a fraternal world where humanity would triumph! Unfortunately, ruined by her excessive generosity, she is harassed by creditors.
Despite having received the Legion of Honor and the Medal of the Resistance, she finds herself alone.
When the show begins, a bailiff comes to evict her from the Château des Milandes.
A tribute to the courage and generosity of this extraordinary woman.
Press:
“This show moves us… We feel a symbiosis between Joséphine and the actress; both are leading the battle for Fraternity.” Theater according to Dupoyet is a love story…
Joséphine couldn’t leave her indifferent… A truly emotional moment! We discover a Josephine Baker who is far from clichés and incredibly endearing.”
